This is a powerful post. I started to shine some light on it myself since it's forgetten not only every day but ever October when people turn their blogs pink for breast cancer. I won't tell my own story. I won't tell my moma's story, but I will say, you never know how much nerve a person has to reacquire to leave a situation like that. A person like that is not in the same position as a rational thinking person who comes into a relationship with their self-esteem intact. It's a silent and deadly process of tearing down and separating. It's subtle, it's mental manipulation. Heck, I might as well do a short post about it. Thank you for posting this. Amen. I'm glad that things have turned around in those situations but I know others where it hasn't.
