Happy Thursday! I gotta do something ‘bout my schedule. It’s 11am & I’m just posting. Slacker! Not that anybody’s setting their watch by my posting schedule or that you’re even checking for me. It’s just a personal thing for me – I like having it done first thing in the morning. Guess that would depend on when I roll myself outta bed huh? Doesn’t help that my laptop wants to act out. *sigh*

Anywho…I realized the other day when I posted about music that I’m feeling right now, I left this song off the list. For those of you who know me, you’ll know exactly why I like this song. And I thought I’d drop another piece of poetics for your reading pleasure also. No correlation between the song and the poem. I was…um…inspired…though not necessarily by this song.

Have a better day than you planned!!

“I’m a movement by myself but I’m a force when we’re together.
I’m good all by myself but you…you make me better.”
“I’m already boss, I’m already fly…If I’m a star then she’s the sky.”

Whew! That? That puts a smile on my face cause Baby, that’s where it’s at! If that ain’t an anthem for what a relationship SHOULD be, I don’t know what is. Can you imagine living that???? I’m not talking about having it and letting it go (for whatever the reason). I’m not talking about flirting around the edges of it. I’m not talking about running from it. I’m talking about living right in the middle of it - good times and bad - knowing that you are who you are in your full glory but having the person you have by your side that just elevates who you are individually & collectively. Lawdhammercy! Some folk don’t think it’s possible but can I tell you that I know folks who live it every day? For real. It isn’t all smooth sailing - it takes work. What doesn’t?

Say it, mean it, walk it, repeat it. I’m in. No doubt.

A’ight. Let me leave that alone before I hurt my dayum self. LOL On to the poetics….

I am inspired

I am inspired….
Bathing under candlelight,
Soaking serenely in warm, scented waters,
Vibing on a memory yet to be born
Najee playing softly in the background
Your face floating inside my subsconcious
Poetry blooms inside me and

I am inspired…
To bring it to life…
With you…life imitating art
I smile shyly, stepping out of tepid water
Cupping hand full of scented body oils
Gently massaging it into wet skin
candlelight dancing sensually along the wall
I press freshly manicured feet into slippers
Wrap silky robe over curves
Eyes closed, I gently rub almond oil into my scalp
Run my hands through a mass of kinky twisted strands
Dreaming of dimples with my eyes wide open
Search closet for a dress that says ‘delicious’
Opt for red so you will know – this is a full alert
Wrap-dress overlays the terrain your hands will travel
I bend from waist,
Slowly push soft feet into sexy red stilettos…
feeling every bit of these 4-inch heels,
I laugh sinfully because

I am inspired….
To give it to you with my shoes on
Over and…over….and…over
As soft raindrops wet your face
Before our ultimate intimate kiss does the same
But not before you trace your name down the small of my back
Before sunrise, you write your name deep inside me
And I spiral high above us
Begging angels to give me ways to keep you here, to know this bliss,
Simply because….

I am inspired….

Miz J. as usual I admire your bravery. I know, I know this is just a shift and you are being guided. Still to reveal it and put it our there is brave to me.

Bravery? *shrugh* Maybe. As much as I love to dance, I don’t find dancing around feelings or issues to be my thing. It works for some people, for others it’s too much. Que sera sera.

Yes, Jackie it is brave. Many folks are afraid to put it out there their real selves/feelings.
